When I became a huge Levi's fan in the early 90ies and a pair of 501s was the most sought-after garment for teenagers, there were some of the best commercials ever for these great jeans on air. I tracked down the ones I like most on youtube, most of the are for the 501, some for Levi's in general.

I'm surprised this post hasn't received more attention! Advertising is definitely one of Levi's strong suits, and I think it's clearly been one of the factors contributing to the legend of the 501.
I just love the motif of some of the commercials from the late 80's and early 90's. The cinematic production values, dialogue-free storytelling, clever/amusing conclusions... it's all great!
For me personally, I love the whole American Southwest setting and free-an'-easy male characters; I've been lucky enough to live a life where I've been in situations like those... albeit less stylized ones.
Does anyone have any links for vids Klaus missed? Any cool print ads? Older stuff?

Throwback, I don't have a picture of any personal "golden years/retirement" jeans. Yet.I can post a clip of a new pair of Levis 501. It made such an impression on me when it came out. "Man the jeans are so hard, they scuff you."

I'm a huge fan of the late 80's to early/mid 90's range of Levi's commercial. Like you, Hank, I don't watch television much anymore. I have, however, seen some of the newer stuff on YouTube. For the most part, not a fan... as, in general, I'm not a fan of the general direction Levi's has went in recent years 
I do however like this one for 527's. It has the flair of the "classics"... a catchy older song, vintage automobiles/surroundings, a clever story with an amusing ending. Not as good as the older ones in my book, but pretty good!
