I had an appointment with my neurolog today. Over a period of a few years I have met him about a handful times, always noticing him wearing 501s. Today I though, "What the heck!" and asked him about it. He told me that he owns only two pairs of pants, both of them being 501s! Now that's pretty cool! He wouldn't need more and you could practically wear them with anything and everywhere you go. I always had a high opinion of him as he is a gifted doctor, but this is really something respectable, as most doctors here wear their noses quite high. This one's different, though, and for a guy with such a big paycheck, giving even lectures at the university, he is very laid back and easy going.
Cool Doc

Cool! People in 501's usually catch my eye too. I try to figure out how old the jeans are by glancing at the arcuates.
It's especially neat to notice someone wearing 501's in an old TV show or movie.

I've recently met a young chinese guy. He works at a chinese buffet restraunt, always wears one new pair of 501s from china. He said they cost about 170.00 dollars there, and everyone wants them. But he is thin and complained about the fit in the thigh being way to wide, and the back pockets being down on his legs. Also the denim felt different than my new 501s. He isn't washing them yet, but they seem to stay clean for a restraunt worker. I guess we are lucky to buy 501s for 34.00 and wranglers for 29.00.

Cam, I do that, too. Especially old movies are fun to watch from a 501 perspective.
Bill, I had a look at the Japanese Levi's site. LVC and Levi's is big there, and I wanted to know what they say about the new cut. Well, I don't understand a word, lol. But the website is what the US site should look like. The standard 501 (I'm not sure if it is the STF) costs about $180, I guess.

yeah that's really cool Klaus! maybe subconsciously that's why you chose him as your doctor
I saw a guy in the grocery store the other day with a pair of new black 501's that looked really good. perfect fit, soaked but not heavily washed. I probably should have asked him about them

A match made in denim, Ned!
You should have asked the guy, Ned. If I ever see someone wearing STFs here in Austria, I'll talk to him, because this means he's into them as they are not available here. It most likely won't happen, though.
