Yea or nay? While I appreciate the look of beltless 501s, I prefer the feel of a heavy leather belt. What about you guys?

I like it best when the jeans sit perfectly so I don't have to use a belt. Now I prefer web belts, as they are much more comfortable than leather belts and are easily adjusted for a perfect fit.

full thickness leather with a removable buckle. I used to do braces (suspenders), web belts outside the loops, flat buckels, etc. I like how leather ages as much as the denim itself
the belt i'm wearing with my jeans these days is actually levi's but i didn't like the buckle so I switched out one i found on a belt at a thrift store.

Presently a "stretchy" uniform belt or a fabric/stud belt with a loop "buckle" that I bought on sale $5 @ Target (originally $20 LOL)

no belt on a slim guy looks cool, a little overhang maby needs a belt. I wear a belt sold by carhart, plain black 1 1/2" smooth leather. I have a large buckle collection, but, my favorite is, 2 steel rings 2 1/4" OD. put both in the buckle loop and snap the second snap. thread the belt tang through both rings, than go through between the 2 rings, pull to the right, tight. no holes to punch, always just the perfict fit. farm stores sell rings for $00.75 cents ea.

cool idea, i have web belts that do that but i've never done it with leather. i think i'll give it a shot

im on and off on the whole belt subject cus my waist line changes a lot depending on how active i am any given month so sometimes i need to use a belt and worst of all i just got 2 new stf's in the mail but between the time i ordered then and now i lost about 1.5 in in the waist and its still going down. to me the major factor in wearing a belt or not when its not required is the difference in fading in the belt area (no idea what the term for that area is). i was just showing someone about 20 min ago the difference between heavily worn and never worn pair of 501xx rigid (dark blue) side to side and they didn't believe that they were the same jeans, the only way that they would believe me was because of the belt area which is significantly less faded and looks kinda odd because the entire pair is broken in with whiskers, stacks and a seat that is much lighter than light blue's. while wearing a belt my be a fashion preference it also highly effects the overall fade of the jeans. i myself never intend on selling my jeans to a high class vintage store or anything but i would like a 5 year old pair to look good with or with out a belt if it fits well and not have that odd darker ring around the waist
