Hey all,
Decided to jump in and find myself a pair of STFs thanks to the great info on the site.

The first issue I had was the fact that I couldn't find a local store that sold them, who would have thought that a city of a million people wouldn't have a place that sold raw denim (I'm in Calgary, AB. If anyone knows any place then let me know).

Also couldn't find any Canadian stores that had a web presence so I ended up getting a pair from Rocky Mountain Connection in Colorado. Decent enough service, they just gouged on shipping to Canada. Canucks beware.

I think I picked up a pair that were a little big for me (the joys of pants shopping online) but they shrank pretty well.

I thought I'd keep a photo record of wear, so I've been posting some shots on my flickr stream. I figured that if anyone would be interested, it'd be you guys. Enjoy, I'll keep posting as I go.

Hello all,

Has anyone seen these new Levis selvedge STF jeans? They are on the Levis website.

http://us.levi.com/product/index.jsp?productId=4213660&cp=3146842.3146844.3146854.3194290.3692024

A couple things seem different about these than the regular STFs.

1. The fit description says "sits below waist" as opposed to all the other 501s which say they "sit at waist"
2. The photo portrays the jeans as a little slimmer and lower rise than the other STF photos
3. The patch on the back says 501XX instead of just 501.
4. Ive never owned a pair of selvedge denim, but i assume the denim is a bit higher quality
5. the full price is $98 on the levis website as opposed to $40 for the regular STFs
6. The selvedge STFs only seem to come in length 34 or less. I called a couple Levis retail stores. Not many of them carry the selvedge STFs, but some more major stores do. I called the Georgetown, DC store. I asked about the 34 length and she said that is the longest that they come in. She said that it is truly a 35 though, even though it says 34. So I guess they incorporated the shrinking into the size.

Having had 2 pairs of the regular STFs and loving them, I compulsively ordered a pair of these new Selvedge STFs. I normally get a 31x36 in the regulars. This time I got the 31x34 since that is the longest i could get. If it truly is a 31x35, this should be ok. I'm also thinking since they are a little more low rise, that they will sit a little lower and this will add some length for cuffing, etc.

Anyone had any experience with these? Do they wear, fade, contrast better? I also plan on doing these really well. No washing for AT LEAST a year.

On another note, i was recently in a levis store and noticed some new signage next to the STFs. They no longer are recommending that you size up in the waist. Levis, themselves, is advertising a shrinking process very similar to what everyone on this forum does. True waist size...true fit...get them long and cuff. Wear them for a year and then soak, etc. Very interesting - i think it is catching on.

I was just curious how many of you wear denim jackets as well as jeans.

I have sort of an ambivalent relationship with them. I had a highly faded on with patches on it for years which i loved. then i got a great deal on a "Big E" rigid denim jacket ($40 or something real cheap) but i hardly wear it! It fits me great and looks good but i just can never find the right outfits to wear it with.

How do you guys feel about the denim on denim look?

A suggestion for keeping them 'clean' and dark: No soap when washing. I have washed my STF 501s together for a couple years now. I wash 3 to 4 pair at a time, by themselves, and inside out. After visiting different sites and reading many comments about how much guys like the deep, dark color of the denim, it makes sense to me to machine wash them without soap. They're just getting a really good rinse, and dry, each time. I feel it supports the macho ruggedness of the jean. When washing my other jeans I use a tablespoon, or 1/4 of the recommended dose, of environmentally friendly liquid laundry soap (Costco's for me).

just kidding!

I don't have any experience with them but they seem to be another rigid denim option in a similar price range to the 501's.

What are people's experiences with them. Any favorite styles in the rigids?

Like most it seems that I found the forum here after finding Ned's blog posts about STF 501's during a web search.

I am interested in denim jeans now, but I have to admit that during my teenage years I largely rejected blue jeans, along with most of the other values of my generation. I spent most of my time as a teen in twill cargo pants, camo army fatigues, or kahkis(for dressing up).

It was only after a while after highschool that I came to appreciate jeans, outside of my previous experience. In high school what I knew as jeans were poorly fitting, generally light blue, washed out, baggy pinstripe pants, often times with a horrible fake whiskering on them.

A few years after highschool I realized I could keep the few pairs of jeans I had darker and closer to the nice indigo of a new jean simply by only washing them inside out, only did I notice and start to appreciate the more interesting aspects of denim. The genuine fades and whiskers(and lack of pinstriping) you get when jeans are properly cared for and of at least a certain minimum original quality, such as the Levis 501's. Even if some have said the quality of Levi's has gone down over the years I must say there are certainly far worse choices.

I've had ridged jeans before, but I'm certainly looking forward to getting my hands on a real pair of shrink to fit 501's. Unfortunately the local stores here primarily stock washed jeans, along with a smaller selection of ridged jeans. So it will be a bit longer before I can make a trip to a store with a decent selection.

Size-wise from what I understand I might want something in the range of 30x33 for STF or maybe 30x34, In the rest of my wardrobe a 32 inch waist is far to large, 30 inch fits well but is still just a bit roomy, if I wanted to go without a belt, as many seem to do, I would guess a 29inch might be an option. However I am concerned that after a soaking a 29inch waist it might be just a bit too small. For length 30inch is generally just a slight bit too short and I wear anything with a 30 inch inseam lower on my waist to compensate, 32 inch inseam seams a bit too long, and even when wearing them natural I tend to destroy the hems quickly. I've never cuffed a pair of jeans and generally wear them true to size(or as close as possible), I'll have to see once I get my first pair of STFs how I feel about the cuffs while wearing them raw.

My best estimate of my true current size is 29 1/2 x 31, a bit hard to find a decent fit. I don't seem to find many pairs of anything with a 31inch inseam, it always seems to jump from 30 to 32, but it maybe its just a side effect poor local selection.

Outside of my intro post and talk of STF 501's I'm looking forward to making another post concerning my recent denim interests/activities; Small teaser, they are Levi's, and they haven't been discussed on the forum as far as I've seen.

Hi y'all,

I can't believe it has taken me this long to find this forum!

I am a 501xx fan, born in the 1970s, which dates me as an 80's kid. In pre-teen years, I loved seeing tight Levi's jeans on people, and all the more when they were worn down and a little ripped, and combined with a pair of Converse Chuck Taylor high-tops. I especially liked the fade pattern on the outer seam when the two pieces of denim are flattened apart. I don't know how to describe it. For a long time, many jeans had the two pieces of denim sewed together on the inside of the outer seam. But on 501's, they were flattened apart, giving a symmetrical look to the fade pattern. Does ANYONE know what I'm talking about?!? Anyway, that, and the button fly drew me to 501's, although I didn't really know the model number until I got my first pair around 7th grade! They were a dark, rinsed blue, not STF.

Later, during college, I realized what the difference was between 501 and 501xx (pre-shrunk vs. STF -- but not nowadays), and I also noticed the change in denim weight. I started shopping at second-hand clothing stores, and I noticed that 501's of the 70's and 80's definitely had a "richer" feel to them, and nice fade patterns, too.

Also noticed (and confused by) the loosening in fit, the change in labeling (use of capital XX instead of lower case xx), the deeper V back-pocket stitching, and the double-stitched inseam using two yellow threads instead of the orange thread and blue thread. Why did I notice such details, and why did I yearn for the jeans exactly as they were in my teen years? I don't know.

Anyway, I still like wearing (out) my STF 501's, and I look forward to participating in the discussions here, when my time permits.

Some other details:

I measure W33, L32.

My latest pair of STF's is W34, L34, started wearing in January 2010. It has gone through two bath-tub soakings, no launderings. I haven't been wearing it daily; maybe about 30 hours a week. It's a little loose; should have gone with W33.

I'm Asian American; live in Los Angeles. So, yeah, I'm a city kid, so I don't wear jeans for hard work generally. But I like to see (and touch) jeans that have been through genuine hard work. mmmmm. maybe it's a fetish?

--posco

EDITED to add photos to illustrate outer seam fade patterns:

Just wanted to drop a line to share that I got a new pair of 501's STF in the mail from Langstons late last week. I went with the 31x38 for extra long look and the ability to cuff them if i want. (I have a pair of 31x36 that are exactly the right length)

What I'm especially excited about though is my plan to shrink them. I've been wearing them as much as possible raw for the next couple months (can't wear them to work -- major bummer). Then I am going on a trip to Jamaica! I am planning on wearing on the plane there and when we get to the resort to wear them into the water and bask in the sun on the beach in the newly soaked jeans. Very exciting! I'll be sure to take pics.

as my last post in the Red tag thread stated that i decided to take a trip to a Levis store to have a few questions answered. ill get to the wtf parts in a second. but the only problem is i think i left with more than when i got there. so my first question was answered about how many (r) red tabs are made. the answer was 1 in 8 after i corrected the sales attendant that it cant be 7 in 8. my second question was why they existed and got a "i have no idea" from all of the staff. no this is where things started to get really f'in weird. like always i was drawn to the stf's and the store kinds decided to go with just 1 color, rigid aka indigo. i was looking for the black or night colors so that i could write a follow up on another post but they had none. thats when i saw the new stf's

this has to go in it own paragraph

i dont know if this is normal or if something f'ed up is going on (because all of the stf's i have seen have an XX after to 501 on the tag) but when i was looking at the stf's on the rack most of them had no xx after the 501 on the tag. i called the nice clerk over and asked her what the hell was going on and she told me that the XX denoted that it was a stf and i told her it was a little more than that but after a little banter i showed her 2 pairs of stf's off the rack and some had the xx and others didn't. she had no explanation for this at all. now i have grown up with a guy who is an expert on Levi's (i would go into detail about him but it would take forever) but he could tell about when and where a pair of jeans was produced by the color of the red dye on the tag so i looked at that first. there wasn't any change in color that i could tell but the print of the 501 and the sizes was definitely in a thinner type set. so am i just confused about something or is this a wrf moment where they are getting rid of the XX after the 501 on the tag. if this is some kind of error i would love to know cus ill go out and buy a few pairs right now

the next thing i saw that was really cool was a pair of 501's that was preshrunk and very lightly vintaged. they came in one color that i saw which was gray but what i thought was so f'n cool was the tag was leather. yes real leather not thicker card stock or anything but real dark leather. they cost about 20 dollars more than the stf's but a real leather tag... how cool.

please people respond with more info and such because the people in the store could not answer most of my questions. i want to call Levi's but i am holding off until i get some feedback from you

Hey Guys,

I think that this is a relevant topic. OK, we all wear 501s or some other jeans, but what comes between us and our denims? Boxers, jocks, briefs or nothing.

Unless I'm going "formal", nothing comes between me and 501s. This includes raw unwashed rigid STFs. This could be considered a bit of "torture" to some folks, but that's part of breaking my 501XXs in.

Of course the majority in this forum is into STFs, and so am I. In my opinion, LS&Co's 501 STFs are the only original jeans. They started it all. It's really amazing how this great product survived essentially unchange over such a long period of time.

However, I do like jeans/denim in general and do like other styles and brands, too. For me, jeans have always been an American product. Therefore, I prefer the Big Three (Levi's, Lee, Wrangler). Coming to think of it, I do not own any other brands except one pair of Guess jeans (I'm still looking for the screen accurate version of Back to the Future) and two custom made jeans. I am not interested in other brands, but that doesn't mean there aren't other jeans that couldn't tempt me.

I love rigid jeans. The look is classic, and it fascinates me when looking at a pair of faded jeans to think of how differently they looked when they were new and starchy. Every now and then I take all my pairs out of the closet and inspect them. I love stonewashed jeans, too. From a purist's point of view this may be despicable, but that's the way I am. As long as they finish has an even wash (no artifical whiskers and stuff). I grew up with them and loved them, there were no dark indigo washes available in the late 80ies/early 90ies in Austria.

I'm not very much into "coloured" (twill) jeans. Jeans are blue to me, the twill version simply don't have the look. There are/were coloured denim jeans (the new STFs, for example), but as I said, jeans are blue.

There are the Vintage lines, each of the Big Three has them. I once had the 1901 501XX model. But when talking about jeans I usually have styles in mind which the average Joe can afford.

Fit-wise, a regular fit suits my body most. This would be 505 or 13MWZ territory. I don't know the "new" 505s, I heard they are too baggy. I only know the 90ies/late 80ies cut (slightly tapered), they fit me well. I had a look at the Lee regular fit jeans, they are reasonably priced and the fit looks good to me. What I like about them (as well as Wrangler's Cowboy Cut jeans) are the high back pockets. Who wants the back pocket on the thigh? That's a downside of Levi's 505s, the pockets are way too low.

The '93 501 model has a great fit for me. The leg opening isn't too big, this model has a slight taper. The new ones are straight.

13MWZs are good, the thigh could be a little slimmer. A perfect fit for my body could be a mixture of them with the 936DEN slim fit style. Wrangler's indigo color doesn't look as "classy" as LS&Co's and the broken twill denim weave doesn't have the classic denim look, these are slight downsides for me. What I do like are the colored jeans from this style, here the bwoken twill weave does it for me.

I haven't tried Wrangler Rugged Wear jeans, but their regular fit style might be worth a try.

One thing that bothers me a lot recently are labels, trademarks and such stuff. When looking at clothes I almost get the feeling of looking at advertisments. So on some jeans I do remove them, this works well on rigid jeans as there will be no sign there was something sewn onto them after one or two washings. I quite like the look of "naked" back pockets, too, so sometimes I remove the stitching. Of course I do have unaltered jeans as well, I just like variety.

Are any "Tremors" fans here? Kevin Bacon and Fred Ward are wearing Levi's jeans in this movie. Ward's jeans are looking like 505s to me, Bacon may wear them, too. The are nice, slim looking. Bacon wears a Levi's denim jacket with a brown collar but no lining. As far as I know the lined jackets had a brown corduroy collar, so this one is interesting. I always thought it might be leather.

i was just wondering if any of you had a preference on which tab you prefer. i myself like the blank (r) red tab because it is something that is more uncommon and makes my jeans more unique. i just got 2 pairs of 501xx stf's in the mail today and i was so happy that the indigo pair i got was a (r) tab because i normally spend so much time hunting them down in stores. so that's what motivated this post, i would really like to hear what you guys think.

Hello from NJ. I discovered Ned's FAQ while googling "501xx",still reading the other articles at this moment LOL.

It all started when my brother gave me a pair of 501xx last year, afterwards I pretty much stopped wearing my other jeans other than the (non-501) torn, grass and oil stained ones I use for yard work etc.

A new pair arrived today in the mail, but I'm a little concerned <img src="http://forums.nedsferatu.com/my-plugins/bb-smilies/default/icon_sad.gif" title=":(" class="bb_smilies" /> My first pair are made in Colombia, this new pair is from Mexico. The inseam is supposed to be only an inch difference (original 29,new 30) but they look/fit much longer. When I tried them on the legs felt quite baggy. Is there a 501xx STF and a 501 non-xx STF? The originals say 501XX at the bottom left of the label, the new ones don't. But the cardboard tag it came with say "Shrink-To-Fit". Hopefully after the first tub marination (finished a few minutes ago) and overnight drip drying they'll fit like my originals. The new ones are Verde Rigids, the originals are Rigid Indigo to my knowledge...still waiting for an email back from my brother.

By the way I bought these from Eastbay, was ordering t-shirts and sneakers and browsed through their Levis stuff. I placed an order from Langstons (where my brother got my originals AFAIK) but they're not shipping until the 12th <img src="http://forums.nedsferatu.com/my-plugins/bb-smilies/default/icon_cry.gif" title="" class="bb_smilies" />

Hey all!

I'm planning a post coming up that will be a round up or summary of how the cut and style of the jean has changed over the years and especially more recently. It's pretty easy to find historic info about them, especially because of the LVC line, but the newer changes are a bit harder to track. Please help me out if you have any info about changes to the jean style/cloth/manufacturing within the last 10 or 20 years. Thanks!

What about the other Levi's models? Anyone like and wear them?

I quite like the 517. I wish it fit a bit lower on the waist, but it's still a nice slim fit with a perfect flair hem. It's available in rigid indigo too, which is a bonus.

The 505 is a disappointment. It's just too relaxed--it's not that far from a 550. Like the 501, I suspect that Levi's has played with the 505 fit in the past and that it used to be a slimmer fit. I'd like to find a pair of those.

The 512 is essentially a 517 with a straight leg. Unfortunately, it isn't available in any finishes I like. In fact, it's not on the Levi's website at all, so it may have been discontinued. I bought a pair online in "Clean Rinse", assuming that it was an indigo denim, but it turned out to be a black denim, which I don't much like. Moreover, it's some of the thinnest denim I've ever felt. Consequently, I'm just not comfortable in them.

I need to get a pair of 511's. Waiting for a sale.

550/560: Undeniably comfortable, but far too slouchy for me. They look awful on my slim frame.

I have no experience with 514's, 527's, etc.

When I became a huge Levi's fan in the early 90ies and a pair of 501s was the most sought-after garment for teenagers, there were some of the best commercials ever for these great jeans on air. I tracked down the ones I like most on youtube, most of the are for the 501, some for Levi's in general.

What do you guys think about cutting the legs off your ole beat up STFs and wearing em in the summer heat?

Don't see many guys into cutoffs around in California. Cutoffs used to be popular. A very practical use for cast off 501s with holes in the knees. Wear em to the beach, etc. Useful on hot humid days.

I wasn't gonna wear cutoffs this summer. But, found a ratty ole pair of cut off 501s at the bottom of my closet, and am enjoying em now. Little reaction when wearing these suckers on the street. So, if it pleases you, do it. What is the opinion of the rest of you?

Most guys around here don't mind a friendly worn out pair of jeans. We love them as they age. But there comes a time when they are no longer wearable and are so trashed that they become impractical. A friend of mine has a museum for jeans, he collects especially worn out and dirty pairs that tell a story. So if you have a pair you consider to throw away, no matter which brand, drop him a line:

Hi everyone, just registered. I ride bikes to pay rent. I was a bike messenger, but when the economy went sour, I moved on to food delivery in hopes of better pay. Point is, I ride bike a lot and it destroys my jeans. I have way too many pairs of jeans with gaping holes in the butt. Lately I've been going to discount stores and buying whatever is cheapest and fits the best, but going through jeans that I'm not super fond of as fast as toilet paper sucks.

Could one of you help me out with your extensive denim knowledge and recommend some sturdy shrink to fit jeans?

I'm looking for some shrink to fit jeans that might have a chance of holding up for at least a few months. I like a more skinny fit, it keeps the jeans out on my bike chain but I don't like them skintight, too restricting and I can't wear thermals underneath on cold days.

Really dark blue (getting close to black) would be a great color, but durability is more important. Also, they should be reasonably priced, I don't make a ton of money and don't want to drop a bunch of bills on something I'm just going to destroy.

Started out looking at levis stf. The black rinse ones sound like the perfect color for me but I've heard people calling them 'paper-thins' and that they're only mid-weight denim (12.something oz, right?) so I'm discouraged about buying a pair of those.

Heard wranglers hold up pretty well, so I'm interested in those. Heavier weight denim and the weird weave means sturdier, right? And the rigid ones will shrink to fit, right? I had a pair that seemed to hold up okay... for a while at least. Those were pre-shrunk though.

Any other suggestions? To they make kevlar reinforced jeans? I'm looking for something bulletproof. Stf Carhartts?

For decades all there was, was 501xx jeans in the color of DEEP INDIGO, 501-0000. In August-Sept. 2007, 501xx also was introduced in BLACK, 501-0226. Now there's 501xx jeans in the colors of VERDE, GREY, BROWN, LIGHT BLUE, KNIGHT, KHAKI and PURPLE, plus the 501-0549 through 501-0554 series that have the design in the inside which are meant to worn with a turn-up to show off some of that design. My main bitch with these 501xx jeans is the same complaint that most denimheads have with levis, the fabric is too light-weight. Did I miss any other new XX colors?

Have anyone of you heard about 501-0549, 501-0550, 501-0551, 501-0552 and there's even more. These 501XX jeans are produced cuffed (turn-up) and are supposed to be worn cuffed. The cuff is where the fashion is behind these unique 501xx jeans. The ouside color is dark indigo, much like 501-0000, but the real fashion statement is in the inside. The insides' of these jeans have a design, and some of that design is shown with the cuff. The designs are grey & red triangles, orange & blue dots, colorful verticle lines, blue zig-zags and white dots on blue. In fact, depending on the design, the accurate stitching on the back pockets can be red, green or blue. These jeans do have extra length to accomodate the cuffing. The only place I know to get these is at bargainsavenue.com @ $69. Bargain avenues lists the 501-0550 & 501-0551, but the others must be asked for. The full retail value is $98. These jeans have 12.5 oz. denim, the same as most regular STF jeans.

ok so im pretty straight forward when buying jeans, no wait that's a blatant lie because im kind of anal. but when going online to buy a pair of jeans it shouldn't be that hard. to me the process should go like this...

for this performance i would like the website to be levis.com, this is a total act of fiction (the real version comes later) and this is what i would have liked to have happened

website - what would you like to purchase
me - jeans
website - excellent we have tons of those <img src="http://forums.nedsferatu.com/my-plugins/bb-smilies/default/icon_smile.gif" title=":)" class="bb_smilies" />
me - yeay
website - what style would you like
me - 501's
website - great we have plenty of 501 jeans. would you like any specific type. yes i know that when you say you want a pair of 501's you think there is only one kind but in fact we have over 20 types of that one style and thats only the 20 we have in stock right now. by the end of the month it will be about 629 different types of that one style.
me - ummmm ok that's great and all but i was just looking for your standard 501's you know the kind iv been wearing since i was a kid.
website - ok we have plenty of those what size and color would you like.
me - ummmm how about XXxXX in the color white
website - ok that's an odd request but we have that and would be glad to ship it to you in a timely manner
me - yeay that was easy
website - we are glad you think so and hope you enjoy your purchase with in 5 days

now how hard would that be to pull off???? i have gone into countless stores to buy my Levi's. while they might not have the large selection of Levis.com its pretty straight forward when you walk in, walk to the wall with the Levi's, find the style you want, then the color, and last see if they have it in your size. in the end (and with a trip to the fitting room or 2) you walk out with what you need. i think that buying jeans online should be just like that.

now im going to go smoke a cig because its 2:30 am and im going to try to explain the hell on earth that is trying to find a pair of jeans on Levis.com which will be the same pair of white 501's.

for this reenactment the part of website will be played by Levis.com

website - shop men's or woman's
me - well i do have the xy chromosome so i am going to go for mens
website - you can choose what you are looking for by top rated, or one of our category's like jeans, other departments or sales
me - im looking for jeans so i think i will go with the jeans category on this one
website - great you chose to look at jeans but now you have tour choice of sub category's such as by leg, fit, wash or big and tall
me - i just want a pair of 501's so im going to go by fit
website - great you want to choose by fit we have 12 different kinds
me - yeah i know i have owned most of them but im going to go for the first choice the 501's
me - wow this seems easy im just one click away from getting those white 501s i want
website - great now what kind of 501's would you like we have 5 types
me - ummmmm what
website - we have 7 kinds of Broken In's, 9 kinds of Shrink to Fit's, 4 kinds of The Classics, 4 kinds of Black, Grey, and Neutrals, and 4 kinds of Premium's.
me - yeah ummm that's great. even better when i ordered my shrink to fits, but i kinda just want a plain pair of 501's that are white.
website - well we have 5 different kinds to choose from
me - ok well i think im just going to go for the classics because that's what i want a classic pair of 501's in white
website - great we have 4 different kinds of classic 501's
me - ummm i don't really see how that's possible, having 4 different types of the classic 501 jeans, but ill give it a go
website - now just pick what type of classic 501's you want
me - ok ill go with the second one
website - you chose rinsed
me - yes i did, now lets look at the colors, i want white
website - im sorry you cant choose a color now you have to pick a size first
me - ummmm ok that is odd but ill play along, here is my size
website - ok, now pick a color
me - i choose..... wait a min there is only one color
website - well for this style and type there is only one color
me - ok ill try another one
website - go ahead we have many styles, types and colors.
me - wtf im looking at all these different types and in different sizes and you dont have any other colors
website - yes we do each type of 501's has its on unique color
me - that's just stupid what if i want a specific type of 501's, oh i don't know, maybe a plain pair of fracking 501's, in a specific color.
website - why would you want that when we have so many types and predefined colors to choose from
me - because i want a god damn pair of regular 501's in the god damn color and god damn size i want them in
website - well im sorry you feel that way but you have to choose between the different types we have available online
me - no i don't, im just going to go to the mall, 15 min away, to the Levi's store and get what i want
website - nooooooo you cant do that
me - yes, yes your right that would be stupid of me. they over charge me. i can just walk the extra 500 feet to the jc penny and get them delivered to my door for cheaper
website - lies lies lies you cant do that
me - oh no wait your right jc penny doesn't have white 501's
website - hahahahahahaha see you must order from me now
me - ummmm no i found a sears 4 miles from one of my IT job's tomorrow that has them in stock. yes 501's, you know normal 501's, that are my size, in the color i want and are in stock.
website - they lie
me - i think ill go with there inventory report that says most locations except this one don't have them. and that this one location that's close to me has them in my size. sooooooooo suck a 12 foot donkey dick and die website i already gave you 100 bucks this year.
website - nooooooooooo im melting.
me - i could really use a smoke now.... oh wait i have one i think im going to go smoke it and then go to bed because its 348 in the morning.

i cant remember where i was going with this post because im so tired and have to be up for work in less than 5 hrs but when i remember ill respond to this with the reason for me posting this.

Hey Guys,

I finally found that perfect pair of shrink to fit 501s that I've been searching the stores for.

It's STF and it has a sorta black rinse effect. They're called black STFs. But, at first glance, they appear to be regular STFs, only a bit darker.

I'm sure happy with the fit, and I'm never gonna wash 'em. They fit a bit loose now, cos they're raw and unwashed. Enough for a guy to tuck his shirt tail in if he wishes. The tags say "Shrink ti Fit", but the two horse patch says "501", made in Mexico. Retail cost $34.99.

Had to try on several pairs before I found that true pair of STF 501s. The first ones had that "State Trooper" look.- snug waist, bulge in the thighs and snug legs. I rejected 'em, can't stand 501s like that.

Hi All, It's been a while since i've been on. Ned - The Jamaica pics look great!

I wanted to start a thread about the Levis STF tags - you know, the little extra piece that extends off the faux leather, cardstock Levis label. The little perforated peice that says "Yea...these are fresh from the factory...raw...and untouched". The one that screams "rip me off" but WE NEVER DO. Why? Because it is just so cool.

Does anyone know the history of this tag or it's purpose in general? Or does anyone have any interesting tag stories?
