I ride bikes to pay rent. I was a bike messenger, but when the economy went sour, I moved on to food delivery in hopes of better pay. Point is, I ride bike a lot and it destroys my jeans. I have way too many pairs of jeans with gaping holes in the butt. Lately I've been going to discount stores and buying whatever is cheapest and fits the best, but going through jeans that I'm not super fond of as fast as toilet paper sucks.</p> <p>Could one of you help me out with your extensive denim knowledge and recommend some sturdy shrink to fit jeans?</p> <p>I'm looking for some shrink to fit jeans that might have a chance of holding up for at least a few months. I like a more skinny fit, it keeps the jeans out on my bike chain but I don't like them skintight, too restricting and I can't wear thermals underneath on cold days. </p> <p>Really dark blue (getting close to black) would be a great color, but durability is more important. Also, they should be reasonably priced, I don't make a ton of money and don't want to drop a bunch of bills on something I'm just going to destroy.</p> <p>Started out looking at levis stf. The black rinse ones sound like the perfect color for me but I've heard people calling them 'paper-thins' and that they're only mid-weight denim (12.something oz, right?) so I'm discouraged about buying a pair of those. </p> <p>Heard wranglers hold up pretty well, so I'm interested in those. Heavier weight denim and the weird weave means sturdier, right? And the rigid ones will shrink to fit, right? I had a pair that seemed to hold up okay... for a while at least. Those were pre-shrunk though.</p> <p>Any other suggestions? To they make kevlar reinforced jeans? I'm looking for something bulletproof. Stf Carhartts? </p>
