I just recenty bought my first pai of 501 STF. After shrinking and wearing them wet I was sitting and the knees stretched out quite dramatically. I was wondering if there was a way to get the to go back to normal. Any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I was just curious how many of you wear denim jackets as well as jeans.

I have sort of an ambivalent relationship with them. I had a highly faded on with patches on it for years which i loved. then i got a great deal on a "Big E" rigid denim jacket ($40 or something real cheap) but i hardly wear it! It fits me great and looks good but i just can never find the right outfits to wear it with.

How do you guys feel about the denim on denim look?

Wranglers....discuss

just kidding!

I don't have any experience with them but they seem to be another rigid denim option in a similar price range to the 501's.

What are people's experiences with them. Any favorite styles in the rigids?

What about the other Levi's models? Anyone like and wear them?

I quite like the 517. I wish it fit a bit lower on the waist, but it's still a nice slim fit with a perfect flair hem. It's available in rigid indigo too, which is a bonus.

The 505 is a disappointment. It's just too relaxed--it's not that far from a 550. Like the 501, I suspect that Levi's has played with the 505 fit in the past and that it used to be a slimmer fit. I'd like to find a pair of those.

The 512 is essentially a 517 with a straight leg. Unfortunately, it isn't available in any finishes I like. In fact, it's not on the Levi's website at all, so it may have been discontinued. I bought a pair online in "Clean Rinse", assuming that it was an indigo denim, but it turned out to be a black denim, which I don't much like. Moreover, it's some of the thinnest denim I've ever felt. Consequently, I'm just not comfortable in them.

I need to get a pair of 511's. Waiting for a sale.

550/560: Undeniably comfortable, but far too slouchy for me. They look awful on my slim frame.

I have no experience with 514's, 527's, etc.

I checked out the Sheplers website today. Now most guys here aren't into prewashed jeans, but this information is interesting:

13MWZ and 936DEN in colors stonewash and bleach are made of 15.75oz denim!! The prewash process may affect durability to some extent, but I believe these are almost as hard wearing as the rigids. Wrangler's broken twill denim is nearly indestructable, anyway.

Wrangler does a great job with their Cowboy Cut line. No wonder Levi's has lost ground in the Western segment, as Wranglers are superiour in almost every aspect.

My wife found this on cool hunter, thought you guys would be interested:

Limited-Edition Graphic Levi's 501 Jeans

Levi's recently released a limited-edition series of four pairs of jeans featuring vibrantly colored graphics. Geometric prints in red, blue, orange and yellow line the inside of each of the four jeans included in the collectible series.

Inspired by 1980s video game graphics, the arcuate thread stitching on rear pockets and a button on the fly both smartly coordinate with the respective colorway. The graphic provides a nice accent when cuffed or you can just keep it to yourself.

Available for $98 from Macy's Stores. For more info, call +1 800 USA LEVI.

(via Cool Hunter)

I think they're actually kinda cool looking. What do you guys think?
